Your First Appointment

First time patients often question what to wear to their chiropractic appointment. While we have a few tips, the number one rule is that a visit to us should leave you feeling comfortable and relaxed.  You might need to change into a patient gown so that Dr Dewberry can access your spine. However, you are also welcome to wear thin, stretchy fabrics like activewear as long as what you are wearing does not impede your adjustment.

Your first appointment starts with your medical history.

Dr Dewberry will enquire about what you’re requiring help with, past injuries, medical conditions, any medications you take and your lifestyle habits. He will then conduct a physical examination, and from there decide on a course of treatment which will involve spinal manipulation and could include dry needling and acupuncture.

Before you leave he will give you some helpful stretching exercises to do at home, and schedule a follow-up appointment which is vitally important to ensure that everything has settled.

Dr Dewberry is highly qualified and has had years of experience in helping thousands of patients live pain-free lives.

Chiropractic adjustments don’t involve the use of drugs or surgery, instead they offer patients a safe way to treat pain using physical manipulation. Chiropractors undergo years of studying and practice followed by licensing before being able to work, and there are many precautions and safety measure in place. So yes, it is safe!

We have a full range of medical aids that support us including Discovery Health, Momentum Health, GEMS, Fedhealth, Bonitas and Medshield, as well as many others. You can contact your medical aid directly to find out what they will cover.
