About Dr Dewberry

Dr Gary Dewberry graduated with his Doctorate in Chiropractic from The National Chiropractic College (now the National University of Health Sciences) in Chicago, Illinois, USA, in August 1988. He also qualified in Physiotherapy and Acupuncture.

He established Highway Chiropractic Clinic in November 1988 in Pinetown. He has practiced full-time in the Pinetown area for the last 35 years and also has a satellite clinic in the Lighthouse Mall in Umhlanga Rocks.

Dr Dewberry is a keen sportsman and has completed 10 Cape Argus Cycle races.  He has always participated in sport, playing rugby, tennis, squash and golf as well as practicing karate for over 10 years. (He was awarded his junior black belt and was Natal Champion in his weight division 5 years running, and South African Champion for 3 years).  Dr Dewberry himself benefitted immensely from chiropractic treatment as a result of various sports-related injuries, and it was through this that he became interested in chiropractic and decided to pursue it as his chosen profession.  He has a firm understanding of the human body and knows what needs to be attended to in order to help individuals reach their full physical potential and peak.

Dr Dewberry treats all general back/neck pain as well as stress-related injuries. Special interests in the practice include not only sports related injuries, but the treatment of both paediatric (babies and young children) and geriatric (elderly and arthritic) related chiropractic conditions.

He has been married to Caroline for the past 35 years and is the proud father of two sons, Warwick and Ryland who are both pursuing careers in their chosen fields which they are passionate about.

Dr Dewberry is a great believer in preventative care and maintenance of the body – much like servicing our motor vehicles – and after all these years of practice, he is still passionate about being able to educate and assist his patients in living a healthier and pain-free lifestyle.
